$25,000 in Fundraising Becomes a $200,000 Donation in Medical Supplies and Equipment for Hospital Arco Iris. Thank You Ashley Perry!

by: John Basilio

Ashley Perry is a single professional tax accountant from Atlanta, Georgia who made a dream contribution become a reality! Before volunteering in La Paz, Bolivia for  three months last year to serve the poor, she knew about the incredible needs that both the Hospital Arco Iris (HAI) and Foundation Arco Iris (FAI) had.

So she decided to do something about it.  Ashley was compelled to begin a campaign at her job to raise a total of $25,000, which in turn she donated to MedShare for HAI.

MedShare is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the environment and healthcare through the efficient recovery and redistribution of surplus medical supplies and equipment to underserved healthcare facilities in developing countries.

After months of waiting in great anticipation, HAI received over $200,000 in medical supplies that has filled a large portion of the storage room in our hospital.

Ashley is a perfect example of what you can do from where you are. With a bit of focus and determination anything is possible!

We are thankful for people like Ashley who chose to use her time, expertise and heart to find a way to help the underprivileged. These supplies will help to meet needs of many poor children and destitute patients in La Paz who come to HAI seeking medical care. We are thrilled that once again HOPE worldwide Bolivia’s presence has become a bridge for resources to Hospital Arco Iris.
